Definition
PCP is phencyclidine. The drug was originally developed during the 1950s as a general anesthetic. The drug was withdrawn from the market in 1965 and limited to veterinary use only because of its severe side effects. Many drug users are not even aware they are ingesting PCP since the drug is frequently mixed with other common street drugs to enhance their effects.
